STUDENTS' INDUCTION PROGRAMME - 2019(January Session)

 

An orientation programme for the students of IGNOU who have taken admission in the January 2019 cycle was held on April 21, 2019 at 11.00 a.m. in the MP Hall of Bhagini Nivedita College. Dr. Ekta Sharma, Assistant Regional Director (ARD), IGNOU Regional Centre (Delhi-3) was the Chief Guest. Dr. Charru Sharma, Acting Principal of Bhagini Nivedita College was the Guest of Honour.

The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the welcome extended to the guests with the presentation of token gifts.

The Co-ordinator, Dr. Alokka Dutta formally welcomed the students to the IGNOU study centre at BNC and acquainted them with the system of the study centre with the help of a PowerPoint presentation covering the establishment, purpose and activities of the study centre. She also introduced all the Academic counsellors to the students.

The Acting Principal then welcomed the students to the college and assured them that the College would take care of all their needs as well as issues, if any, at the Study Centre .

Dr. Ekta Sharma, ARD explained IGNOU' s administrative policies and how students can find solutions to some of their common problems. She explained how the system of credits work, what are the ideal study hours to be devoted to each course and what is the role of academic counsellors.

The students were then given the opportunity to ask questions and get their doubts clarified. The programme then ended with the distribution of light refreshments to the students.

 

PRESENTATION ON ROLE OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

 

A presentation on the “Role of Financial Management in the daily life of an Individual as well as in Business” was made by Ms. Anuradha Yadav on May 19, 2019, for the benefit of the students affiliated to the IGNOU Study Centre of Bhagini Nivedita College.

The main objective of this presentation was to create an awareness among the students about the importance of financial management in their day to day life and to apprise them of the different tools and techniques available for analysing different types of investment opportunities.

Around 40 students attended this presentation. Overall, it was an informative, interesting and educational programme. The students greatly appreciated the learning opportunity provided by the presentation.
