Debate Competition on FDI by Economics Society

event-photos The Economics Society of the college organised a debate competition on the 'Impact of Prime Minister Modi's Visits to Promote FDI' on 29th Oct 2014 at 12:40 PM in College premises.

The following students participated in the debate, which was anchored by Pooja Kandpal

This competition aimed at helping the students to develop the essential skill of public speaking, face audience comfortably and express their views confidently besides improving their awareness and understanding of current events. Each student was given 3 minutes to express her views. While a majority of participants spoke in favour of FDI, one of them expressed her views against it.  Student participation was however, below expectation because of the public holiday announced by the Delhi Government on the day of the event

Shrishti Dudeja bagged the first prize with 25 points out of a total of 30 followed by Aashna Singhal with a marginal difference of 2 points. The winners were honoured with certificates. Faculty members of the Economics Department Mrs Uma Nijhawan, Dr Taruna Tomar and Mr Love Gogia were the judges. Certificates of participation were also presented to all the participants. The general feedback from the students was that this event enhanced their knowledge about FDI
