Participation of BNC at State Level Consultative Meeting on Educational Policy

A State level Consultative Meeting on New Education Policy was held on November 4, 2015 at the State Council for Educational Research & Training, New Delhi. Shri. Manish Sisodia, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and also Minister of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi was the chief guest

Mr. Kailash Gahlot, Member of the Legislative Assembly from Najafgarh Constituency was a special invitee

Bhagini Nivedita College was represented by a six member team comprising Mr. Ajai Rai, Chairman, Governing Body; Dr Purabi Saikia, Principal; Dr. Anjna Gupta, Secretary, Staff Council, Dr. Rachna Mohan. Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell; Ms Sandhya, Student of B.A Programme (II Year) and Ms Himani, Student of B.A Programme (II Year)

At this meeting, separate Working Groups were constituted for each of the following 20 issues

  1. Governance reforms for quality in Higher Education
  2. Ranking of Higher Education institutions and accreditation
  3. Improving the quality of regulation
  4. Pace setting roles of central institutions
  5. Improving State public universities
  6. Integrating skill development in higher education
  7. Promoting online courses
  8. Opportunities for technology enabled learning
  9. Addressing regional disparity
  10. Bridging gender and social gaps
  11. Linking higher education to society
  12. Developing the best teachers
  13. Sustaining student support systems in Higher Education
  14. Promote cultural integration through language
  15. Meaningful partnership with the private sector
  16. Financing higher education
  17. Internationalisation of higher education
  18. Engagement with industry to link education to employability
  19. Promoting research and innovation
  20. New knowledge

Dr. Purabi Saikia was the Group Leader of the Working Group on ‘Improving State public universities’. Participation of the BNC Team in other Working Groups was as follows
