Report on the Workshop on 'Jewellery Making'


Workshop on Jewellery Making With a view to enriching the teaching-learning experience of the Generic Elective paper 'Fashion Accessories', a workshop on 'Jewellery Making' was held on March 26, 2018, in the Apparel Design & Construction lab. Around 50 students belonging to the Apparel Design and Construction stream and the General Elective paper of the BA Programme participated in the workshop.

The workshop was conducted by Ms Seema Gupta, an experienced Jewellery designer. She introduced the students to the various tools used in jewellery making and also demonstrated the different techniques and processes involved in making earrings, rings, bracelets and neck pieces using beads, stones etc. She also displayed a number of jewellery pieces designed by her and interacted with the students about the design and construction processes used in the making of these pieces.

The students participated with great enthusiasm and made small pieces of earrings, rings, bracelets and neck-pieces for themselves.
