Workshop on '2D and 3D Applications of Computer Aided Design in Fashion

Computer Aided Design in FashionA workshop on '2D and 3D Applications of Computer Aided Design in Fashion' was organised on April 05, 2018 in the Apparel Design & Construction (ADC) lab for the benefit of the BA Programme students pursuing the ADC course.

The workshop was conducted by Mr Rajender, Software Manager at Optitex. He demonstrated the preparation of pattern of a bodice and sleeve on the screen using CAD software. He also demonstrated other important applications for CAD software for processes such as pattern grading, their marker development and draping the pattern on the 3D dummy along with the methods for changing fabrics, stitches, etc.

The students found the workshop very useful, informative and gained a deeper understanding of the subject by watching a live demonstration of the actual computer-aided design processes
