National Seminar on Role of Literature

A two day National seminar on “SAMAJIK SANSKRITIK MULYON KA SANKAT AUR SAHITYA KA DAYITV “ was organised by the college under the aegis of UGC on 22-23 March, 2013. The conference hall of Delhi University Geology Department in the North Campus was the venue.


Eminent scholars who made keynote presentations at the seminar included Dr. Prabhakar Shrotriye, Mr. Vishwa Mohan, Dr. Narendra Kohli, Dr. Puran Chand Tandon, Prof. Surya Prakash Dixit, Prof. Hari Mohan, Prof. Dharam Pal Maini, Mrs. Chitra Mudgal, Prof. Jai Prakash, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Prof. Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Prof. Avdhesh Kumar singh, Dr. Kirishan Chand Gupt and Prof. J. M. Khurana. The speakers not only highlighted the relevance and role of Hindi literature in contemporary society but also urged the need for creating and promoting responsible literature. Their expert views formed the basis for interactive discussion in which the audience participated enthusiastically.


More than 20 teachers of various universities also made paper presentations in the different sessions of the seminar. Around 140 participants including teachers and students from Bhagini Nivedita College attended the seminar. Primary funding support for the event was provided by the University Grants Commission. HUDCO and REC also supported the event by becoming co-sponsors.

Dr Mamta Singla coordinated the event with encouragement and guidance from Principal, Dr. Purabi Saikia and support from Mr. Arnold James, Chairman of the College Governing Body.
