Report on the Activities of the Commerce Society

 

Activities of the Commerce SocietyDuring the silver jubilee year of the College (2017-18), the Commerce Society organised various curriculum enrichment activities for providing the students with a platform to express themselves, gain current knowledge other than what is in the syllabi and interact with external experts.

Colloquium: New Age Game Changer

A two-hour workshop was organised on October 26, 2017 in association with IILM Institute for Higher Education, Lodhi Road. The workshop was delivered by industry experts Prof. Sujit Sengupta and Ms. Dipanwita , Head, Marketing and HR. The major highlights of the workshop were: (i) Disruptive Technologies and (ii) Role of Future Business Leaders.

Corporate Social Responsibility: A Paradigm shift in India

An interactive talk session on “Corporate Social Responsibility: A Paradigm shift in India” was organised on November 3, 2017. The session was chaired by Dr. Monica Aggarwal, Aryabhatt College. The major focus of the session was on CSR initiatives taken by Indian companies and the legal provisions inserted in the Companies act, 2013.

Workshop on “Goods and Services Tax”

A workshop on “Goods and Services Tax” was organised on November 10, 2017. It was conducted by CS Dev Balhara and Advocate Mehak Aggarwal associated with the NGO Young India. The experts discussed the major provisions of GST laws and problems faced in the initial phase of their implementation.

Debate Competition on “Goods and Services Tax”

An intra-college debate competition was organised on the “Need for Implementation of GST Laws” (for and against the motion) on November 13, 2017. The list of prize winners is as follows:

Workshop on “Communication Skills for Job Market”

A workshop on “Communication Skills for Job Market” was organised on February 8, 2018. Mr. Prassananshu from National Law university, Dwarka, New Delhi was the speaker for the session.

Typing Speed Test

On the initiative of Ms. Sushma Khurana, Instuctor OMSP, the department organised a typing speed test competition on February 15, 2018. The list of prize winners is as follows:
