Overview: Human Development & Family Empowerment Discipline Course
Offered as part of CBCS based BA Programme from AY 2015-16
The undergraduate discipline course in Human Development and Family Empowerment (HDFE)offered as part of the B.A Programme has been contextualised and embedded in the broader perspective of life span development. The increasing focus of development programmes and legislations on issues relating to women and children generates an empowering awareness among the students and raises their level of interest in 'quality intervention programmes'.
This course also emphasises the integration and application of the knowledge on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) to provide a stimulating environment to young children. This course also aims to provide practical experiences of working with children, which will enable the students to develop the skills required for effectively dealimg with with infants and preschoolers in various settings.
The course offers an interesting assortment of skill development opportunities along with generic studies of other disciplines to allow for effective transmission of relevant experiences of daily living.
